Smartphones have become dominant in communications industry due to its high tech and incredible apps. Recently, Emerging Healthcare Solutions, Inc has developed an app called MedAnywhere which is believed will revolutionize patient care. I propose to write a report how this app will be a technological breakthrough and become an essential component in this market.

According to the report, the new medical app will bring a potential enormous market and expand the use of smartphones worldwide. Smartphones have become very popular and have increased fast recently. According to Manhattan Research's Monique Levy, senior director of research stated in the interview that about 64% of physicians owned a PDA or smartphone in 2009, and expect to go up to 81% in 2012. Levy said "Almost 9 in 10 physicians say the Internet is essential to their practice, and a growing number of physicians are using the Internet during or between the practices of seeing patients"

Caduceus Medical Group has launched an iphone application in which “patients can request an appointment slot, pay a bill, fill a prescription and get a basic question answered by a doctor, usually within an hour.” This app also has specific features such as staffs’ information or driving directions. Moreover, everyone can download this app even if he or she is not a patient.

Now, medical students can use mobile apps to facilitate their studying. They find that smartphones give them faster access to health information. Interestingly, the mobile apps also reduce the amount of books that they have to carry to school.
